Feel Good

Going to a convention can be an exciting experience, but in order to ensure a great convention experience, you should prepare. So here is some stuff that is good to know:

Genki means being lively, or full of life, and we want to keep you that way. It’s a term some of use to show off our enthusiasm for the convention. One does not simply go to Genki. One becomes Genki.

Sleep

We recommend that you sleep every night during the convention, so that you are always well-rested. This goes double if you are traveling by car. If you are driving your friends, you should make sure that you get an extra few hours of sleep before driving, as driving tired is more dangerous than driving drunk; neither of which we recommend that you do.

We have a sleeping area at the convention site, so remember your sleeping bag and/or air mattress. Since we only have a limited number of sleeping spots available, a sign-up form will be placed on the homepage, so those, who have paid early on, can sign up for a sleeping spot.

If you are sleeping at the convention venue, we suggest you bring inexpensive sleeping gear, since you won’t be able to watch over it throughout the entire convention. Marking your belongings permanently in some way also ensures that people will refrain from stealing and makes it more easily recognizable, should someone have moved it.

Toilets and Showers

The venue has toilets that easily accommodate 3,000 guests (though not at the same time…), as well as showers on the basement level, which will always be kept open for use during the entire convention. Please make sure that your belongings are taken care of though, as we are not responsible for anything not in the wardrobe being stolen while you’re showering.

Eat Food and Drink Water

As much as we enjoy drinking soda non-stop, it’s not healthy for you, so we recommend that you drink a lot of water during the convention, to keep your spirits up, and make sure you stay well fed. Not eating and drinking can not only make you feel sapped of energy, but it can lead to fainting or worse. Stay hydrated and eat a proper meal at least twice a day.

To help with this, we have a café and a restaurant at the convention venue serving food. If they are not to your liking, the venue is situated near the Roskilde city centre, so there’s always an alternative only a few minutes away by foot.
